Honeymoon Tales!

Went to Thailand for a short honeymoon and our first stop is to the little town of Pattaya, 2 hours from the Bangkok International Airport.

I must say we didn't expect much from this little town but turns out that it was more enjoyable than Bangkok is to us and here's why...

Beautiful ambience that sets the honeymoon mood at a rate cheaper than Bangok hotels....highly recommended The Mercure Hotel Pattaya...

George and I particularly missed Thai foodfare from this mini eatery that serves up palatable dishes, and my favorite "kang Kong" is called "morning glory" in Thailand...wonder why?

We chanced upon this Ripley's Museum in a shopping centre and it provided us with 2 hours of fun peeking around.

Original pieces of the Iron Curtain, the Berlin Wall that came down...pardon me for being a bad guide, I've forgotten what most of the exhibits I saw were! :(

My favorite pose...

Big tyre right? It's a replica of a real one..forgot what it was used for...some crane...

There was one haunted house that we didn't try...cos I would hallucinate if I attempted to go in...so we settled for a pose instead : )

And then we went off to Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Bangkok, the tallest hotel in Bangkok and we stayed on the 41st floor (which is the lowest zone)

I would really love to stay at the highest level (70 plus) but wasn't willing to pay the extras. Didn't regret it cos I didn't even like the hotel..I promised myself to stay in a better hotel if I were to visit Bangkok again..

I realised that hubby and I are both sightseeing travellers - we like to see new things and not enjoy trips that are all about shopping. We visited one of his Bangkok colleague and she took us to sample local authentic Thai cooking...nice...and cheap!!!!

Don't be deceived by appearance, it ain't spicy...

As for the rest of the days, we were so busy shopping, there's no time to take pictures!!

Erm..hahaha..I missed out some pictures...here goes!

Okie, I liked this Roasted Prawn Glass Noodles at a roadside eatery...you can't find the same taste in Singapore. Was amused by the big prawn head..haha.

Someone asked me to blog about my wedding preparations. Frankly speaking, people usually get so busy with the nitty gritty details of the preparations that they don't think of blogging, but I am persuaded and so here's my entry...

Actually, wedding preparations aren't hard work. If you have planned a year ahead, and keep
doing stuff consistently, you'll be cool as a cucumber.

BUT, my test came in the form of a job loss. Two months before my wedding. It happened.

Then I plunged into deep darkness, along with my faith which had been high up before this.
Plans were readjusted. Renovations were reduced to a minimum. Honeymoon was decided on a nearby location.

For one month I sat at home checking out recruitment ads, battling negative thoughts of a much compromised wedding. I tried to turn away dismaying thoughts, but it was hard when you have nothing to do when everyone else is pretty much busy working.

To cut a long story short, after a seemingly infinite period, blessings came.
My refrigerator is blessed (by someone of course)
My washer is blessed.
My hood and hob are blessed.
My dining table, tv console and coffee table are blessed.
Praise be to God!

Many wonderful friends came alongside me to encourage me through the depressing time.
Thank you Jairus, Wendy, Roy, Ling Siang, my cg members, my sister.
Most wonderfully, my hubby-to-be for telling me:
What matters is we go through trials together and become closer and tougher.

I was upset with myself for allowing my faith to be punctured. And now I'm believing God will build my house when I used half my life to build His. Amen!

~ Bosses Restaurant 黑社会 ~

I take it upon myself to do a little review about this restaurant named as above.
To start off, the restaurant has a cool Chinese name......

Then it has cool customized utensils......

Its a pity I didn't manage to snap the cool uniforms of the staff

A very nice VIP room that my phone camera did not capture well enough

And a dish I'm most fascinated with... it actually tastes alright! I

By the way, portions are small but tasty enough, prices are not that cheap, location is at Vivocity...but it's quite an experience for visuals. ; )

Who am I
That You call my name
Who am I
That You wash my feet

Who am I really to be worthy that God call me by my name?
This, is enough for me to live my life for You.

Promise

I promised someone that I'll be back in bloggion "some time" after my wedding..... Promise.

New Groundz!

Many of you are aware that I changed my job recently...and God has been good all the way. My first month was smooth and the company culture is in tune with many of my personal beliefs eg. no gossip, no bootlicking. I believe when God asks us to move on, He will make straight our paths provided that we first venture out in faith, even with little inkling of what the move entails.

Here's a picture of The Three Pretties! A group of ladies I click with thus far...

Underground Hideout

I was walking by a building near my office where I noticed the basement was of reminscient value to me.

I used to read a lot of books in primary school and the background of some of the stories were set in olden days where the main mode of transport was the railway. Think Shanghai in those British colonial times but put it in a western concept.

I always feel there is something queer and mysterious in those basements illustrated below. Some criminals might be hiding. Some secret transactions might be going on. Frankenstein was probably recreated there.

Be Not Vexed!

This season of my life, God is testing my faith and endurance.

I stood on and held on to God's Word;
His promises of deliverance and hope
As I waited, my heart was tested so that it was faint
As I tarried, my vision was distracted so that my eyes were blurred

Somewhere in the corner, a ray of light lingered
A light of revelation, a light of understanding
A light that reminds me
Of victories won with Him, of testimonies neverending

Then somehow courage mustered
And I decide
The evil one may try to frustrate,
May try to distract, may seek to disturb

My flame, my faith, my heart
Will get stronger with every tarrying
Because I have chosen

Airings

It has been a frustrating week. Though I do not want my blog to become a frustrating blog, it is therapeutic to air my thoughts a little...so please bear with me.

I can't stand people who pull a long face in the morning as if the world owes them a million.
I don't owe them anything, at least not to see a long face.

I can't stand people who find it hard to move their lips to mouth a simple "Good morning".
It is basic courtesy whether you are positioned high above and humble beneath.
It is an attitude in your spirit to be joyful in the morning.

So if, perhaps, maybe, you fall into the above categories, please help to paint the world a more colourful and beautiful place. Every behaviour is an attitude of our heart.

On Saturday August 13 I attended Joycelyn's birthday chalet. My oh mine, it was like a W140 gathering. I had a delicious good time and I wanna say to the W140ers:

"I miss you guys big big time! Miss your fellowship, miss your humour, miss your bonding. Proud of you guys for whatever you are pursuing in your life now, and you guys will always be my best loved group of people I have know in my 5 years in ministry and close to my heart!"
